For the past couple of years, a skyscraper has been slowly rising at the corner of Second and Howard streets in San Francisco's SoMa neighbourhood. The entire building is being leased by LinkedIn, and everybody was calling it “the LinkedIn building.” In the daytime there is very little to say the building house one of the most innovative companies in the world, however at night its clear for everyone to see who the new neighbours are. The Linkedin facade features 120 eight foot tall individually addressable LED bars with 32 vertical RGB pixels each. The dynamic display adds an artistic element to an otherwise plain facade. Each of the 128 eight foot tall bars is connected to Kiboworks control solution called a KiboNode and power units are located in the ceiling. Electrical wiring was minimal and custom brackets where provided to isolate the bars from the curtain wall.
